The Society does not accept online payments through this website at present. This policy is published in advance so that it is settled before the first rupee is taken, and so that a payment provider can review it. It is not legal advice.
1. Scope
This policy covers money paid to Ama Odia Parivar Social & Charitable Society through this website — donations, membership fees, event contributions and directory advertising, once those facilities are live.
2. Donations
Donations are voluntary gifts and are, as a rule, not refundable. Once received, funds are committed to the Society’s charitable work and are often spent quickly — on a blood donation camp, a student’s fees, or saplings for a plantation drive.
We will, however, refund a donation in these situations:
- A duplicate payment — the same amount charged more than once by mistake
- A technical error — you were charged but the donation was never recorded, or the amount taken differs from the amount you approved
- An unauthorised payment — your card or account was used without your permission
- A clear mistake in the amount, if you tell us promptly — for example a figure typed with an extra zero
- Where a receipt for tax exemption cannot be issued because of an error on our side
Please raise any of these within 7 days of the payment. We will consider a later request on its merits, but a donation already spent on the purpose it was given for cannot usually be returned.
3. Earmarked donations
If you give for a specific purpose and that activity does not go ahead, we will contact you and either return the money or, with your agreement, apply it to a similar purpose.
4. Membership fees
If a membership fee is charged and your application is declined, the fee is refunded in full. If you withdraw your application before it is decided, it is refunded in full. Once membership has been granted and the benefits are available to you, fees are not normally refundable, though we will consider genuine hardship.
5. Events
If an event is cancelled by the Society, contributions are refunded in full or, if you prefer, carried to another event. If an event is postponed, your contribution carries over unless you ask for it back. If you cannot attend, tell us at least 48 hours beforehand and we will refund it where costs have not already been committed on your behalf.
6. Directory advertising
Where a paid promotion is not delivered as agreed, we will either run it again or refund the unused portion, whichever you prefer.
7. How to request a refund
Write to us through the contact page with the date and amount, the payment reference from your bank or card statement, the name the payment was made in, and a short note of what went wrong. Please do not send full card numbers or banking passwords — we never need them.
8. How long it takes
We aim to acknowledge within 3 working days and to decide within 7 working days. An approved refund is returned to the original payment method — we cannot send it anywhere else. Once we release it, your bank or card issuer normally takes a further 5 to 10 working days to show it, which is outside our control.
If we decline a refund we will tell you why.
9. Tax exemption receipts
If a donation is refunded and a tax exemption receipt has already been issued, that receipt is cancelled and must not be used in a tax return. We will confirm the cancellation in writing.
To confirm. The Society’s 12A and 80G registration status, so that this section can state plainly whether receipts carry tax exemption. Until those registrations are confirmed, no exemption should be claimed anywhere on this site.
10. Changes to this policy
Any change is posted here with a new date. The policy in force on the date of your payment is the one that applies to it.
11. Contact
To confirm. Registered name as on the society certificate, registration number, registered address, contact email and phone for refund requests.
