Sometimes a family is simply having the worst year of its life. Illness, a bereavement, work that disappears, or a cyclone back home in Odisha.
Why this matters
Most families in this community are one bad month away from difficulty, and most will never ask. Support and Relief exists so that there is somewhere to ask, quietly, without it becoming everybody’s business.
What we do
- Immediate help for families facing sudden hardship in Mumbai or Thane
- Relief for Odisha after cyclones and floods, working with people on the ground
- Help with hospital costs, funeral costs and getting home in an emergency
- Practical help — paperwork, translation, someone to go with you
To confirm. Confirm what relief the Society has actually run, and how a family asks for help. A named person and a phone number works better here than a form — people in trouble do not fill in forms.
